Is Having Carpet Protectant Neccessary?

As a carpet cleaning company, we provide a variety of services for cleaning and maintaining carpets and rugs. We are professionals who enjoy answering questions and offering our advice to any and all, customers or not. One piece of advice we always share with our customers has to do with lengthening the overall life of your carpets. Once our thorough cleaning of your carpet has been completed, we offer application of a carpet protectant that will help to protect your carpet from a stain permanently ruining your beautiful floor. Our carpet protectant is a product that is actually applied to a large amount of carpets that are installed in homes across the country.

We constantly talk about the importance of having your carpets deep steam cleaned regularly, but this time we’ll touch on the importance of adding our carpet protectant to the carpet after the cleaning is complete.  Once your carpets have been deep steam cleaned and contaminants like dust, dander, pollen and mold have been mostly removed or neutralized you’re left with a very nice, clean, new looking carpet.  Now, instead of letting the quality and look of the carpet begin to diminish due to standard wear and tear you can add our carpet protectant service to help it maintain that fresh looking appearance until you have your next cleaning. Our carpet protectant is applied directly to the freshly cleaned carpet as soon as the cleaning has been completed.  It is basically covering your carpet with a light coating of Teflon.  Just like your pots or pans that have a Teflon coating to help prevent stains and make cleaning easier, applying our carpet protectant to your freshly cleaned carpets will have a similar effect.  Any carpet protectant will eventually wear down, so applying it regularly is important.  Once you give it a try you will notice the difference.  Our carpet protectant treatment will help your carpets stay cleaner and looking good longer, Dry soil can be removed much more easily when you vacuum and spills can be blotted up much more quickly and easily.  Next time you have us out for your carpet cleaning service make sure to let our technicians demonstrate the difference carpet protectant  makes.  It’s a decision you won’t regret.

How Cleaning Your Tile Prevents Build Up

Our tile and grout cleaning service professionals are well trained and experienced, and we offer a variety of services including carpet, upholstery and area rug cleaning. When our technicians use our truck mounted units to perform a hot water extraction cleaning on the tile in your home, part of the process is cleaning the grout as well. The grout typically benefits the most from the hot water extraction cleaning process. The main reason grout becomes so much more dirty than the tile itself is due to the face that grout is a very porous material. A porous material is something that is very absorbent of water. Any porous material in your home is subject to becoming quite a bit more dirty than the other surfaces in your home. Dirt and grime are typically carried and worked into certain surfaces by way of water. water helps to move the dirt as well as work it into any porous surfaces. Grout is incredibly porous, so it becomes very dirty quite quickly. Other porous surfaces in your home can be baseboards, tack strips and even drywall. Along with dirt and grime, odors can also be worked into any porous materials. When we clean the grout, the highly heated and pressurized water works its way deep into the grout, knocking loose all of the dirt and grime. Right as it is being worked lose, it is being sucked up by the vacuum portion of our truck mounted unit. We usually recommend sealing the grout once it is cleaned. The sealant will help to prevent the grout from becoming too dirty. Most porous materials can be cleaned, but they can be more difficult to clean than non porous surfaces. Make sure you keep up with the cleanliness of any porous surfaces in your home as this will extend their overall life. Regular maintenance will keep your floor looking cleaning for a long time. Sweeping and moping is something that should be done a weekly basis and you will be happy that you did.

Truck Mounted Units

When your carpets need to be cleaned beyond what a vacuum can do, it’s time for a hot water extraction. When looking for a carpet cleaning company, make sure to ask if they use truck mounted units. That is the first and most important question you should ask. A truck mounted unit is essentially what it sounds like, it is a large cleaning unit mounted in a vehicle. The unit contains a combustion engine that heats and provides the pressure for the water used in the cleaning process. There is also an industrial strength vacuum unit that is part of the unit. This very strong vacuum provides extreme vacuum pressure to help suck up as much dirt, grime and water as possible. Part of the unit includes a large dirty tank. The dirty tank allows us to store the dirty, smelly water on our vehicle so that we can take it for disposal elsewhere. These units are top of the line, industrial grade pieces of machinery that will help any carpet cleaning technician provide you with the best service possible.

The other type of cleaning unit that would be used would be a portable unit. While in principle the portable unit provides the same type of cleaning, in reality the effectiveness is not even comparable. A portable unit is practically the same as a rug doctor that you can rent in a grocery store. Much lower pressures, lower heat and a weaker vacuum make it a much less effective cleaning tool. Make sure you hire a company that only uses truck mounted units, when applicable!

How To Remove Upholstery Stain

One of the many services our company provides is upholstery cleaning Orlando. We use top of the line truck mounted units to perform all of our couch cleaning services. Whether it is carpet, tile or upholstery cleaning, we stick to using the best equipment out there. Our technicians are trained and experienced in all forms of the cleaning services that we provide for our customers. We also use cleaning products that we have been using for years and have proven to be safe and highly effective.

While we can talk about all of our equipment and how experienced our technicians are, we are a professional cleaning company. Residential home owners who do not clean professionally are not going to have access to all of the tools and training that make is so that we can provide a top quality, professional grade cleaning. So, we like to give out some tips and tricks from time to time.

If you have a spill on a piece of upholstery in your home, there are some simple tips you can use to help your clean up come out well. First and foremost, vacuum your upholstery regularly. While this is not a direct step when trying to clean up a spill, it absolutely will help when you do have a spill that needs to be attended to. Vacuuming regularly will help to prevent any buildup of dirt, dust or hair on your couch. When you have a spill that needs cleaning, it is absolutely helpful to not have a layer of dirt or hair making your clean up more difficult than it needs to be. When you are ready to treat the spill on your upholstery, you can actually use some safe products that are typically available in your home. The type of material the upholstery is made of can determine which types of cleaners are safe to use. There are two different types of household cleaners that you can use to treat upholstery. A mixture of dish soap and water, or a mixture of vinegar and water are safe and effective solutions that can help to clean all types of upholstery. A good tip is to test your solution on an inconspicuous area, to verify there is no discoloration. If the solution seems to work, apply it lightly to the spill and dab it up. That is the most important part of the process, to dab the stain. Never rub or scrub a spill or stain, that will actually work the spill deeper into the fibers. Continue to dab the area until the spill or stain has been lifted.

Enzyme Based Cleaning Solutions

Our company prides itself in using products we have found to be safe and effective. As professionals in the industry for many years, we have put a lot of effort into product research. There are occasions in which our research has lead us in the direction of using a new product in place of an existing product. We look on these occasions as positives. Our constant research and testing helps us to determine which products are the safest and most effective to use in our customers homes. For the most part, our base products are phenomenal products that we have been using for years and have not been usurped. Our favorite product that we use in customers homes is our enzyme based pre-spray.

Enzymes are present in every living creature. They typically perform tasks in a living body such as converting food to energy, or even creating new cells. The enzymes will group together and bind to a target. Once the target is located, the enzymes quickly begin breaking it down. The enzymes literally eat the bacteria. Once this process takes place, the bacteria is gone, but there may still be a lingering odor. The lightly lingering odor is actually a good sign. Most cleaners will try to mask, or cover up an odor which will return in due time. The bacteria actually destroys the bacteria and the light odor is a byproduct of this process. When you are having your carpets cleaned, make sure your professional technician uses an enzyme based pre-spray. This is the best way to ensure bacteria removal from your carpet. Our company only uses an enzyme based pre-spray along with our truck mounted units to deliver a fantastic carpet cleaning service, that will leave your carpets like new!

The Modern Way To Clean Carpet

The only way our carpet professionals clean, is using the hot water extraction process. This process is by far the preferred method by professional cleaners, as well as manufacturers. The hot water extraction process is commonly referred to as a steam cleaning. The phrase steam cleaning is actually quite a bit misleading, as the hot water extraction process does not use steam for any cleaning purposes. The only steam present is some steam that escapes the wand jets during the cleaning process. Most of the cleaning process is actually completed with very hot, pressurized water. The steam is simply a byproduct of the highly heated water. This method is recommended only for use on synthetic fibers. Most in home carpet and a portion of rugs are made of synthetic materials. Materials like Nylon, Polyester and Polypropylene are very commonly used in the manufacturing of in home carpets and rugs. These synthetic materials are made to be very durable and resilient. Their durability allows them to withstand the extreme heat and high pressure of a hot water extraction cleaning.

Our company chooses to only use truck mounted units, as opposed to portable units. The truck mounted units we use provide very high heat & high pressures which make all the difference when it comes to performing this type of service. A truck mounted unit is also equipped with a very strong vacuum. These units are the best route to take when cleaning in home carpet. Prior to using our truck mounted units, we do apply an enzyme based pre spray that works very well in loosening embedded dirt or grime, as well as helping to sanitize the carpet. We used the enzyme based pre spray based on how well it works when eliminating bacteria that lives in the carpet’s fibers. A combination of our special pre spray, truck mounted units and employee training provide us with the opportunity to complete the best cleaning service possible!

FYI: Carpet Cleaning History

Believe it or not, the history that precedes our Carpet Cleaning Orlando profession is extensive! Various methods of cleaning and protecting in home carpet date all the way back to the early 1800’s. Before the industrial revolution, many wealthy families would take precautionary steps to protect the carpet in their homes. Whether the homeowners would be leaving town for a while or having guests over, there would be some simple things that would be done to protect their carpet. Prior to effective cleaning methods, people would simply cover their carpet. People would cover their carpets with thick, heavy woolen goods that spread underneath tables and other exposed areas, called Druggets. These Druggets would help to prevent spills from staining the carpet. The more wealthy populous would use canvas sheets that they had custom made to protect their in home carpet. One of the more prominent problems that carpets would face back then was excessive buildup of  dust, dirt and soot. Ventilation in homes used to be very poor, which would create these excessive buildup issues. Homeowners place great value on their homes, as well as the contents inside. This is why they would take certain steps to try and protect their carpets from any damage that could occur.

It wasn’t until the 1830’s that the first known methods of removing stains came about. Now, without the common vacuum, homeowners would have to sweep their carpets. Or if they were loose, they could be taken outside and be beaten to knock the dust and dirt out. Simply sweeping or beating would not remove any kind of stains though. Common carpet stains would be created by oil, ink or grease. All three of which can cause quite the stain. One of the first known methods may sound a bit odd, but remember what kind of technology our recent ancestors had available to them at the time. This early method was to scrub the stained portion of the carpet with a lemon and water mixture, using a loaf of bread. Once the area was scrubbed, the carpet would then be flushed out with cold water and (if removable) hung outside to dry. Nowadays we have a plethora of products and solutions to use for attacking a variety of carpet issues that may occur. Back then, homeowners had to be a bit more creative. Thank you progression!

Professional Carpet Care Tips

Our carpet cleaning professional technicians are trained and certified in the hot water extraction process, but this training isn’t for everybody. Most people do the smart thing and search online for ways to complete tasks. One task that is often searched is carpet maintenance. We are going to provide some basic carpet care tips to help you between professional cleanings.

One of the more simple tasks you can perform to help keep your carpet in as good of shape as possible for as long as possible is to vacuum regularly. It may seem like to simple of a task to make a very significant difference in the look and life of your carpet, but this step will make the most difference when it comes to regular maintenance.

Regularly move your furniture. It doesn’t have to be daily, nor does the furniture have to be moved far. But, moving your furniture just enough about once a month can make a significant difference when dealing with those pesky furniture marks. When placing furniture in your home, keep in mind the plan to move the furniture monthly. It only needs to be moved just enough to let the current furniture marks breathe and fluff back up.

Those are just a couple simple carpet care tips that can typically be performed easily. They will help in the long run and the long run is how you save more money. Performing simple maintenance can help your carpet look nicer and last longer, which means less money spent on replacement. Don’t forget that you need to have your professionally cleaning done every 6 to 12 months as well. The at home maintenance will help, but you still have to have your carpet professionally cleaned regularly.

Furniture Cleaning

We have many areas of cleaning we specialize in. One of our areas of expertise is in our furniture cleaning service. Our certified technicians can provide sofa cleaning as well as our carpet, tile and rug cleaning service. We clean all types of upholstery, from large sectionals, to sofa and love seat combos, to your favorite lay z boy chairs. There is no synthetic material that we can’t clean. Leather, vinyl, and natural fiber materials are fabrics that can not be cleaned using the steam cleaning process. Natural fibers like white cotton contain sugars that could dye the material a different color once it has been steam cleaned and dried. Materials, such as leather can shrink which would result in slight tears in the material.

Steam cleaning your upholstery can help to rid the furniture of allergens, dust mites and even mold spores that could be hidden in there, as well as helping your furniture look as new as possible. Our hot water extraction method has a much more effective result when compared to vacuuming. We still recommend vacuuming your couches regularly, though vacuuming alone will not keep your furniture as clean as it would with steam cleaning. When we steam clean your upholstery, we use a safe, natural pre spray solution to slightly wet the fabric being cleaned. Not just any cleaning solution will work, if the cleaning solution is to high of a PH level then it can damage the furniture to be cleaned. Having a PH level of around 7 is the most ideal level for a proper cleaning. Once the pre spray has had a chance to work itself into the fibers and loosen up the dirt and grime we then take our upholstery cleaning tools and get to work. We spray the upholstery with a high temperature water that is at a lower psi than we use while cleaning carpet. That helps to prevent soaking the padding underneath the material. Once the material has been sprayed, we then vacuum all the grime and dirt out with a very high pressure truck mounted vacuum machine.

Also available with our couch cleaning service is upholstery protectant. This is a huge part in maintaining the beautifully new clean look your upholstery will have. We protect the arms back and cushions of the upholstery. So now when you have a spill in-between our cleanings, you will see the spill bead up on the upholstery, giving you time to cleaning this area before it completely saturates the sofa. The protectant is not an end all be all but it does help with several factors. The best is for the longevity of the furniture, secondly it gives adequate time clean up ares that may have gotten saturated by an unwanted liquid.

When searching for a furniture cleaner, there are many variables to determine. How long has the company been around, what is there online reputation, do the come back when any problems with the cleaning arises? Ask your upholstery cleaning company whats there standard practices are, as bringing the wrong cleaner in your home can have many ill effects.
