Like New Carpet Care is your go-to pet odor removal carpet cleaning specialists in Orlando. Even the most well trained pet can have an accident or get sick on your carpet. But If the issue isn’t addressed quickly and properly, major damage to your carpet, pad and flooring can occur.

Pet urine can cause permanent damage to your carpet and upholstery. It can also create an unhealthy indoor air environment, along with unwanted odors. When urine is first deposited onto carpet or upholstery, it has a pH level of approximately 5 or 6, which is on the acid side of the pH scale. Pet urine is much easier to remove right then when it is fresh before it is able to dry completely. Once it dries it turns “alkaline” or to a high pH between 10 to12 on the scale and becomes more difficult to remove. The warm acid state of the urine offers a perfect breeding ground for bacteria, which will begin to flourish almost immediately. In this original acid state, the urine begins to oxidize and react with the carpet, this is when color change can occur, wether that be yellow or any color. When this happens the color change can become permanent if the urine is not removed immediately. Some of this color change can be attributed to the strong ammonia that forms as the urine passes through bacterial and chemical change. If left for an extended period of time, usually within a few days, but depending on the fabric or floor type, it WILL change the dye structure, therefore causing permanent staining. Even if the soluble deposits are removed (aka the odor causing urine salts) the damage to the dye structure(color change in carpet) may already be done, so act fast when dealing with urine in your carpet.

We have a state of the art process. Our pet stain and urine odor removal specialist have in-depth comprehensive training. Our process, which not only helps with odor, but also help rectify the stain that is normally left behind. As you can see from our video above this technique is not a normal carpet cleaning process. We saturate the area with our special urine odor removal treatment. It is vitally important that you attack not only the carpet but the underlying padding where the majority of the urine will persist. Your average carpet cleaning service will not rectify pet odor as the urine salts are usually deep down in the fibers and in the padding below. So this is why we use a flooding method to attack the padding, this destroys the odor causing urine salts. The cleaning solution will need to dwell for a minimum of 30 min and in some severe cases up to an hour. The dwell time is just as important as the cleaning itself as the molecules need time to do its job. After the solution has dwelled we then use our special sub floor extraction tool to remove all the cleaning solution out of the padding and carpet. We will then make sure the area is odor and stain free. Then its time for our normal deep clean carpet cleaning process.

We know that every pet problem is unique, so we start with a thorough analysis of your unique circumstance, then. After target the problem spots. In some cases, our normal deep-clean, carpet cleaning may be all that is needed. Though in most cases the pet urine will soak through the carpet and into the pad, this is why you may hear us refer to our cleaning as “subsurface cleaning.” It may even soak into the floor and tack strips. In these cases, we will identify the problem, and give you recommendations for proper removal. We have a specialized sub-surface tool that will pull pet urine from your carpet padding, without removing the carpet. Ask about our unique pet odor cleaning today.
